Accommodating History & Culture

We have long been intrigued by the history, culture, and mountainous areas around this small, historical town in the West of Honduras, and we are eager to share our passion with you.

Our 19 rooms are comfortably arranged on a former coffee farm on the hillside of the Fort. Some rooms offer a spectacular view over the town, while others look into our lush gardens. All rooms have hot water, TV, and a front terrace with a hammock. The restaurant provides a relaxing atmosphere and a great view of Gracias. We are well known for our brownies, chicken rolls, fruit juices, and homemade bread as for our local specialties.

Hotel & Restaurant

Guancascos is where travelers meet and a great place to organize your tours and adventures while in Gracias. We provide the link between the local rural community and the responsible tourist and your gateway to National Park Mountain Celaque with the highest top of Honduras. We were the first hotel in Honduras with an international certificate in sustainable tourism that guarantees we operate responsibly towards our guests, employees, community, and environment. (Rainforest Aliance)

Guancascos first opened in 1993, and since then we have been shaping and landscaping the hillside below the San Cristobal Fortress into a fine, authentic hotel and restaurant.

Award Winning

Award winning and recognized the world over, Guancascos Hotel & Restaurant offers visitors a relaxing atmosphere and a great view of Gracias the city and its mountains. The view from the restaurant offers you an open view of the city scape far and wide.
